'From Newry to Norway. How my mother survived the Holocaust' by Lill Fanny Saether

In connection with Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 the Society hosted a presentation via Zoom by Lill Fanny Saether entitled 'From Newry to Norway.  How my mother survived the Holocaust'.  An article published in The Irish News on 25 January 2021 reads

“Lill Saether knows exactly what happened to her family during the Holocaust. Although she was born after the war she can give an almost day-by-day account, because her mother told her parts of what happened, and because her grandmother kept a diary from 1940 to 1945 which still exists.  What makes Lill's story unique is that some of her relatives were saved because the family lived for approximately 20 years in Newry.”

By way of context the video also begins with a presentation by Steven Jaffe on the history of the Jewish community in Northern Ireland from around the middle of the 19th century
