Description

Benjamin Lynass was a native of Coalisland and lived during the early to mid-1800s. A former policeman in the Irish Constabulary and staunch Orangeman he wrote many poems which culminated in a publication in 1842 entitled ‘Orange and Love. Poems and songs, on different subjects’.

While much of Lynass’ life is dominated by the politics of Party in the early to mid-1800s his poetry also gives a glimpse into life in our area in these times. Please come along to hear what promises to be a fascinating story.
