What do a river in western Australia, a shipreck off Manhattan and a hill in Co Armagh have in common?
If you want to know please come along to a Talk on the Donnellys of Tyrone by Jonathan Gray on Tuesday the 24th April 2018 at 8:00PM.
For hundreds of years the Clan O'Donnelly were the ever present supporters of the O'Neills of Tyrone. As well as having the role of fostering the O'Neills children they provided a major part of the fighting forces available to them. Much has been written and indeed discussed of the O'Neills over the centuries but surprisingly little is recorded about the O'Donnellys.
The talk will examine the origins of the clan, the part of Tyrone that became the ancestral land and what became of some of the people and families since the Flight of the Earls in 1607.
Admission is £3 and light refreshments will be served.
